Three-point Lighting
Three-point lighting is a standard technique used in film and photography to create a well-lit scene.
It involves three light sources:
- Key Light: Primary light for subject's features and overall mood. Typically placed at a 45-degree angle to the subject. For outdoor scenes, it's the sun.
- Fill Light: Softer light to fill in shadows and reduce contrast created by key light. Usually placed opposite key light at lower intensity.
- Back Light/Rim Light: Positioned behind subject to separate subject from background. Adds depth to the scene. Often set to a different color.
